  1. Excellent photos. I haven’t spent much time in Ohio, and none in Toledo, and would never have thought it was so colorful.

Toledo’s got soul. It’s got some of the most beautiful residential neighborhoods I’ve seen anywhere and some of the most awful contemporary commercial chain-store strips. It’s got a downtown area with lots of funky old buildings that are being reclaimed by artists, restaurants, and shops. And most of all, it’s got people who have been kicked in the head but who still smile at you when you pass by.

  2. Great shots, interesting old architectural details. I’m a sucker for decayed bldgs LoL

That area I was shooting in is interesting. There are a lot of older wood frame buildings that are indeed decaying. Then there are brick buildings of the same vintage that need some TLC. But it’s happening, just as it is in Detroit. There are coffee shops, art studios, and cafes with live music on weekend mornings.

  3. Those photos could have been of this small town in further west America. Had visions of rejuvenating the “down town” area to attract people to sit awhile and put tourist/traveler ( don’t want to offend here ) $ into the town. Never going to happen. Then came across Roosevelt’s saying” do what you can with what you have where you are ” Lightbulb moment. Like your town, it’s the people who are our greatest asset. Hence our start up activities package ( ref. site ). “Our people” showing “other people” what they love to do. Wish us luck James.
